Do you buy Jenny's theory that Jason lived off the land?

I heard before that they explain why he was alive because they didn't want to spoil the mystery. Bit I think Jenny came up with a good explaination. That he was a frightened retard that survived the drowning and lived off the land. His mother didn't know it and persumed he perished.

I like that boxcat. He hallucinating that his mother told him to fight to shore and survive. It fits perfectly setting up the movie

I've also heard the theory that Pamela found him sometime after the drowning incident, kept him at home, but (not being quite right in the head) may sometimes have thought he drowned.

I always took Jason to be a supernatural entity. Trying to reason any of this story in a realistic fashion, sans part one where the mother was doing the killing, is preposterous.
