a complete "Bustard" of a megalomaniac ruin Christmas for the people around him, I'd watch "Die Hard" instead. After all, it DOES take place at Christmas, there are guns, explosions, incompetent officials, and..."Hans Gruber"! Nothing like an "uncommon criminal" to act like an SS Sturmbannfuhrer in 1940's France. I'm (sorta) watching it unspool now, and I've made it farther than in the past. Usually, I stop before the bombastic entrance of "Lew Hayward," and do something else. I guess I'll hang around for the "head banger" Ghost of Christmas Present.

What the....? Why are you even watching it if you think Scrooged is so terrible. Just turn it off and watch Die Hard again.

Your mistake was that you should watch both Scrooged and Die Hard 2 which is the superior Die Hard Christmas movie.

The pickings on HBO and Showtime as 2020 starts up are...gross/uninteresting/seen that no matter where I look on the Spectrum listings. (There's better stuff on Turner Classic Movies.) I saw it listed as an "overnight/0300 onward" movie, and the IMDb reviews looked promising. So I set the DVR and looked at it after sunrise. Overall, it's better than the 2019 "three night BBC miniseries," since there's no "sotto voce" level meanderings and long winded asides/speeches/grumbling. But Bill Murray is a "shining turd" from start to finish, and I can't suspend my disbelief at his "Scrooge turn around." Oh well, it's just another role, and I prefer his "Stripes" persona. Now what goes with "Izakaya Moheji 3"? (Part of KIKU TV's New Year Specials.)

I remember once watching this together with "Groundhog Day (1993)" and "Ghostbusters (1984)". That was scary.
