How can this movie be so low rated?

This is a classic horror movie and it's amazing. It's one of the best from the 80s.

So I really don't get how it's rated this low. It should have been higher than at least 75%.

Ratings dont mean anything. Films are art, so its all subjective to begin with. As for the film itself, its a classic for sure. Scared the shit out of me when I saw it for the first time as a kid.

Here in The 21st Century, we've got Lizzo, Lindy West, and that broad who played her in Shrill. The Blob seems completely unterrifying by comparison

The Blob is massively superior to all of that.

It's more fun to watch, yet nowhere near as terrifying and disturbing a sight when compared to the aforementioned successors

It's still better at horror in every aspect.
