When Helen is in the parking garage and Candyman starts saying her name in an EXTREMELY creepy voice, and she responds with "Who is that?"
You know what I would do if I was alone in a parking garage and someone I didn't know started saying my name in that voice? Get in my car immediately and speed away, that's what.

Prior to that Helen was roaming around abandonded apartments in a housing project full of homeboys. I don't think she spooked that easily

She's a curious personality and doesn't believe. She's also too stunned with fear and disbelief. Please don't write movie scripts.

She can’t, she is literally unable to leave after first hearing the Candyman’s hypnotic voice.

Didn't she want to meet Candyman? She was investigating/researching the legend so therefore she wouldn't be afraid of him.
