Could you even get away with stealing something like sales leads?

I would think they'd be able to track down the thief pretty easily, once the people you sold them to began visiting the leads and trying to close sales.

Right?!
I guess this speaks to their utter desperation, that they couldn't see where it was going. Of course, it's possible they could have insulated themselves from the buyers with an intermediary...but, given they weren't professional crooks, it's rather unbelievable that they wouldn't eventually get caught...provided Mitch and Murray might even bother to pursue it.
