Discussão Halloween - O Regresso do Mal

Got this movie out as I do every year at this time. Watching it right now...love it as always...my favorite of all the slasher horror movies.

Anyway...things I'm thinking about it as I watch different scenes:

  1. Judith....when Michael kills her, she didn't put up much of a fight. She was clearly alive enough to keep crying and screaming after his initial stab, why the hell didn't she grab his little wrist and break it? I know if she had...we probably wouldn't have this movie, but seriously...she could have at least fought him a little.

  2. There's a scene of Tommy at school...or after school and Michael is clearly stalking him. Makes me wonder if Michael had plans to kill the kid. What do you think?

Discussion here is so minimal...I really do miss IMDB.

I agree, I wish there was more discussion than there is here.

  1. Yes - her self-defence does seem quite feeble.........I go with the assumption that the first thrust of the blade sank deep and left her fairly debilitated.

  2. I've never felt Michael had plans to kill Tommy but was scoping him out for two main reasons:

1 - He had seen Tommy with Laurie earlier and was somehow familiarising himself with anything/anyone connected to her as she was by then on his radar and part of his plan for that night.

2 - Tommy reminded Michael of himself at childhood and sparked some hazy curiosity within himself.

Lynda also mentioned him following her around in the television scene where she picks up the blouse at Laurie's house. Myers seemed to be obsessed with anybody with any connection to Laurie.

I miss imdb too Northernlad. It's a shame this place hasn't taken off like we hoped. It really is a nice forum.

Don't think I've ever seen the television version of this movie.

As for IMDB...I just wonder where the heck everyone from IMDB went...I mean there were tons of people there and none of these new boards have taken off like I expected. It's a real bummer.

The television cut has a few cool scenes.

Your guess is as good as mine as to where everyone went. I see a few familiar faces on imdb2, but nowhere near the amount that was on the original imdb.

I personally prefer the TV cut as long as it is not otherwise cut (ie: death scenes cut). Don't know why, but I'm more used to it now than the theatrical! Watching it now!

I also miss IMDB, but I do NOT miss all the bullshit on that site, specifically the fake threads and the trolls. But there was plenty of convo too, and I miss that.

Happy Halloween!!!

Screw imdb. I haven't thought of it since it closed. Happy Halloween

I think Judith was shocked and surprised at her brother attacking her. She wasn't ready. All vulnerable and alone. I think fear and shock got the best of her.

I've never been stabbed but I can imagine it's a very painful experience and even if she attempted to fight back Michael kept stabbing away at her so either way she wouldn't have been able to put up much of a fight. It's not like she was stabbed in the leg or arm, she was stabbed in fatal parts of her body instantly.

I think like Simest said, Michael wanted to check out anyone who's had contact with Laurie or who's connected with her that he's seen for himself. Also, I'd like to add that maybe that shot was filmed to tell the audience "see, nobody is safe, not even children!"

I miss IMDb with the exception of a few dildos that'll remain nameless. I used to be HaddonfieldMemorial and randy3419 ;)

Hey Haddon. I was beginning to think that you were one of the one's who had slipped into oblivion after imdb closed. Glad to see that you haven't. This is Barney by the way.

Hey hey! Still going strong my friend. I was going to join that IMDb2 site but it wasn't as user friendly as this place and the layout is depressing, if layouts could smell it would smell worse than an Israeli disco! I'm excited, I'm meeting John Carpenter tomorrow, kinda nervous to meet the brains behind the series but it's a good nervous.

I ended up joining imdb2 only because it has more traffic, but I agree, this place is alot better. If only more people would take notice.

Wow I'm jealous! I'd love to be able meet Carpenter! Let me know how it goes.

I will for sure! So there's more traffic over there? Are the headaches over there as well? Lol

Compared to this place yes its busier. The main drawback is that the boards are much more generalized. In fact its pretty much a carbon copy of all the general boards the original imdb had. Each movie/tv show/actor/actress doesn't have their own board like they have here or the original imdb. If you want to talk Halloween you pretty much have to go to the horror general board and wade through other topics to find Halloween threads.

By headaches do you mean CJ and friends? I haven't encountered any of them. CJ said he wouldn't be participating in any other forums due to the "grief" and haters he accumulated. Dave pretty much said the same thing.
