Diskuse o Předvečer svátku Všech svatých

My favorite part is a little hard to describe. But I LOVE how this movie perfectly captures the feel of that decade. I just a little guy during that time. But as I've grown older I hold the 70's as a decade in such awe. This movie is a perfect example of that decade. How simple things seemed in Haddonfield...well until Michael showed up.

I also like that Carpenter didn't flood the movie with images of Michael...we're only offered brief glimpses of him and if you ask me the entire "less is more" philosophy in horror usually works so well and Carpenter knew how to do it.

Less is more. I still believe that...Same goes with real life serial killers, ain't we all scare in our minds, whenever there is a murderer loose in our town? Our minds starts to imagine that it is some killer with a devilish look with horns & fangs, probably living in some dark corner somewhere , we're all on the look out for the weirdest suspecting people among us...Once the killer is caught, that fear is gone & the killer itself is actually some guy with a high education & very articulate person. He is not what we imagine in our fear & paranoia before the apprehension...This is how I see the Halloween film, we scare ourselves by letting out minds go off in the fear of the unknown by seeing less...

The music of the film is the most effective...I wish horror the directors these days, would follow this rule....Their horror films would probably be more scarier...

@pop-actor

Yes! The music in this movie is so unique. I don't know of any movie that has music so fitting of the situation. The music itself is another character in the script. Good stuff!

It's hard for me to come up with a part that I would define as my favorite part too. There are so many scenes that I like. If I absolutely had to pick one it would be the scene where Michael sits up and turns his head to look at Laurie. Then the way he gracefully gets up to begin his pursuit.

I know what you mean about the 70's. I too was pretty young and I really have no memories at all of the 70's, but I love watching the television shows from that decade as well as the movies. I like a lot of the tv shows from just their theme songs alone. I also feel that way about the 60's. I'm pretty jealous of those who got to grow up during those times. I feel like I was born about 35 years too late!

I love that part too! I will also add that I love the part when Laurie gets home from school and looks out her window and sees Michael standing there amongst the hanging clothes. Very chilling scene.

I only vaguely remember the 70's as well. Right now I'm on a kick where I listen to 70's music...a lot! I'm fascinated by it. It's funny because the 90's...rock music wise...is more of my decade. But there's something really cool about 70's music.

That's a great scene as well. There's also the ghost scene with Lynda, and the head tilt after Bob's death. That one stuck with me after watching the movie for the first time.

I listen to alot of 70's music too. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath (which I hear in a lot of 90's grunge) , ZZ Top....

I'm big on 60's stuff. The Beatles (my favorite band), The Who, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Cream.

I'm a 90's fan too. I love Grunge. That was my favorite music scene I've lived through. Music, for me, hasn't been very good since that scene died off.

Quite simply, the intercutting between Laurie trying to get back into the Doyle house and the Shape appearing from behind the Wallace's and making his way unhurriedly across the road towards Laurie.

That part is SO intense! I love it!

I'd go with Donald Pleasance's monologue inside the Myer's house with Brackett. I love that music and it's actually my favourite piece of music in the whole movie/series.

My favorite seen in Halloween is between when it started, and when it ended.

My favorite scene is when Laurie thinks he's dead and in the background he sits back up!

Already been said, but, very much like E.T., the music is 50% of the enjoyment of this movie (which is a BIG percentage). Just sets the mood/tone.

The climax where Laurie finds the bodies and is attacked is the meat & 'taters!

Hm. Probably when Laurie discovers all of her friends dead then Myers slowly appears out of the darkness behind her.

When Laurie and Annie are driving towards their baby sitting destinations listening to don't fear the reaper. Michael follows behind

I liked Donald Pleasance's scenes. This is my favorite horror movie. Thought the end was great when he looks down and the body isn't there, and the music starts playing. Truly the creepiest movie.

Nice question but I don't know what to say. I love everything. Its theme music is pure perfection as well.
