Danny Glover is a black man who may or may not be the Devil. He comes to visit a family whom he's acquainted with and turns their lives upside down. Pretty good film by Charles Burnett, although for some reason, I prefer Killer of Sheep. Some of Burnett's writerly decisions are or may be a bit suspect. Glover's really good in it.

Well I highly recommend it to ya, mech, if you're into the 90's "movement" in Af-Am cinema or whatever you want to call it. I think of it as Charles Burnett's first serious bid for the mainstream; maybe I am wrong about that. But it's a damn fine effort. Glover absolutely rocks as an evil presence turning folks against each other and causing trouble.
Two thumbs way up

SPOILER
Except for the part where Harry got his comeuppance, I don’t recall any of the film feeling anywhere close to “fun.”
