Discuss O Cantor de Jazz

The newer 1980 version would seem to be an ill fit due to much bad acting and overly predictable storyline. One point. The Bible is incredibly scientifically accurate ( see my postings on stuff like round Earth in the Bible). So Jack Robin's religion is a true one. Realize that if you watch this version(again?). Two, there is another theme here despite the giant true first one. About dangerous, daring individuality vs being part of a strong, cohesive and religiously true holy whole. As a boy Robin is part of the latter as an adult he is more the former ( which is what most adults are and increasingly so as the 20th century wore on and into Century 21). Which is better to be? As you long your keep your ( as in Robin's scripted case) true faith you might as well be an individual as a cohesive whole of people is hard to last and stick together for long anyway.
