I started rewatching the whole franchise and decided to read some info about the movies.

It was always sad to me that Val never came back and Burt become the star. Burt isn't a waste on original Tremors and got his worthy kill, but he wasn't meant to be the graboids specialist who's always called to help when they show up. Also, he's a survivalist, I'd not see him leaving his shelter to hunt animals, I'd expect him to help only once them skip following calls.

I like Burt, he's very funny, but I always hoped to have Val back. It's plausible the Tremors 2 explanation that Val got rich and doesn't wanna risk his life anymore. But as the franchise advances, this explanation vanishes and Val should eventually come back. Maybe use the money to create a company to hunt graboids or something, or maybe he loses it all and needs to hunt them for more money. Or he just decides to help ppl for them needing it.

I now learned that Kevin Bacon for years hated the movie. It's so sad. Even worse that later he "changed his mind" and now claims he loved making it.
