Hello, the website indeed reduces quality by a bit, which must be taken into account before adding the image. Also note that fan-art is generally not supported. Key section from the rules for Backdrops:

Fan art edits, picture collage and fan made wallpapers are NOT allowed (the kind you can find on DeviantArt). Most official wallpapers, especially heavily edited or with text, are also NOT allowed.
