I loved this movie so much as a kid, that I saw it multiple times in the theater. Can't believe it's usually rated lower than the original. Even Joe Dante agrees that this sequel is better.

NOT BETTER NECESARILY. A TOTALLY DIFFERENT ANIMAL THAN THE FIRST. IT'S DEFINITELY A QUESTION OF PREFERENCE.

I remember highly anticipating this one (loved the 1st Gremlins, I was 9), then saw the sequel in theaters at 15...and remember being SORELY dissappointed..too wacky for me!
Ffwd a few decades later, now I'm a father of 2 kids (now teens) who grew up watching old Looney Tunes cause of me, and we watched both movies...they LOVED Gremlins 2, moreso then the 1st one! I also have a newfound appreciation for it. Its wacky, its crazy, its funny, its quickly paced...LOVE IT now!

The sequel is a marvelous send up of giant egos — think Ted Turner and Donald Trump, hiding inside the main movie. The wacky mayhem and subversive subplot make this one of those movies that’s great for kids and adults alike.
