Discuss Agente X: Última misión

Well, in actuality I think "The Bricklayer" was released december 2023 but the point still stands. Just about the most mediocre and generic "action" movie I've run across in recent years. Not a single original idea and watching the movie in short 10-15 minutes segments still feels like an eternity because of how boring and unoriginal it is. It On second thought I'll take that back. They had the brilliant idea to have a super agent whose cover job a bricklayer. I suppose that hasn't been used before but his cover job and antics in the movie are about as interesting to watch as drying cement. Now we get to see him lug his bricklaying equipment all over the world for some strange reason while he is doing super important jobs for the C.I.A. I guess he is suffering from some kind of an identity crisis and he can't decide whether he is a CIA operative or a bricklayer. I'm starting to think that the reason we are seeing such an influx of really bad, mediocre and generic films is because the producers ask A.I. to write them a script and whatever they would've paid for the script/story they can now put into the actual movie, which allows them to churn out garbage basically non stop. I imagine our hero's cover job was the job of A.I. as well "Hey CHATGPT give me a list of jobs rarely seen in movies". Followed by "Now work the job of bricklayer into an action movie script ". All kidding aside these days I think if you are lucky you will maybe see one or two new good movies a year with the rest being absolute bottom of the barrel garbage like what Marvel put out last year or totally forgettable nonsense like this one.

I dunno, this looks OK for an action flick and it's nice to see Renny Harlin seems to be getting his mojo back.

Your theory may hold some merit, though as The Stath is playing "The Beekeeper" in a similarly themed movie.

But the difference here is that 'The Beekeeper' is getting pretty good reviews!

Renny Harlin cheated on Geena Davis with her secretary impregnating her too maybe his mojo needs a break. Cliffhanger his best film.

He cast his new wife in this movie too. I think Harlin is over 60+ years old now and his wife must half his age. She doesn't have many scenes in the movie and in the scene where she is supposed to be a dead body she looks like she is about to start laughing so I guess she fits in this movie quite well. Anyways I'm almost to the end and pretty much hated every minute and I kept wondering why he insisted on taking his bricklaying equipment with him on his secret agent mission. Well as luck would have it some evil dude had hidden some super important paper inside his brick fireplace and due to his expertise as a bricklayer he (Aaron Eckhart) quickly deduced that one brick is newer than the others and must hide a secret behind. I mean what are the odds that his highly specific bricklaying tools would be so direly needed. This is top notch writing here folks. Now I really want to know how Statham's beekeeping expertise will save the day in his movie. I assume he will throw honey in the eye of somebody who is about to shoot the president or something equally impressive.

We're planning on seeing it next week - I'll let you know.

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but apparently we also have a movie called "The Painter" (2024) where 'An ex-CIA operative is thrown back into a dangerous world when a mysterious woman from his past resurfaces.' What is with these people? Did they hear Statham was making a movie called "The beekeeper" and think to themselves 'of man this is the new gold rush I gots to get in on that action too!' and start making these bombs.

The only person in that movie that I'm familiar with is Voight, never heard of the rest.
