I don't watch trailers but I'm looking forward to it too.

Fanning is of age now, which wasn't the case when she and Washington starred in Man On Fire. Prospects of them locking limbs and hitting the sheets in this flick are thus strong, here in '23. Especially given little sister Elle has quite the headstart on Dakota when it comes to this department, having bared the goods several times over in Catherine The Great

The prospects are 0.0.

She is like a daughter to Denzel, and the character in the franchise has never been lecherous or even amorous.

Meanwhile, it was only a matter of time before you started back on your downward spiral towards a third - and, hopefully final - account suspension. Some people just never learn, and can't help themselves so please, keep it up so we can be rid of your crap once and for all.

Interesting - would you be so inclined to tell us more about your approach to trailers?

In real life or in the movie?

In real life.

What's your basis for either of these assertions?

My basis includes looking through a lens of humanity and empathy at things like Denzel commenting about her during their shooting of Man on Fire as saying "she is a child, but she is an actor I respect"; or Dakota, in commenting on reuniting for this movie, saying "He'll always be Creasy (the character from Man on Fire she acted against when she was a child) to me."

There are men who fall in love with women they knew as children (Elon Musk's father comes to mind). I do not believe there should be anyone on this earth who might suggest Denzel is a candidate for such a thing, whether in reality or acting a role.

My basis includes reading articles like The Scene that Denzel Washington Refused to Do which provide a broader perspective on his thoughts and approach.

Of course, none of this proves my point. Or, he could change; however, even if the movie does go in the direction you're asserting (and we all know "the basis", the lens through which you are determined to sink to), I prefer to look at things through my lens than through that of a frustrated, easily-titillated, sex-obsessed teenager. I outgrew that a long time ago.

and the character in the franchise has never been lecherous or even amorous.

On a side note, the differences between the character as conceived in the original series and the uberman that the film franchise turned McCall into

Yes, that is a side note, because the film franchise has indeed presented a McCall into the character that he is in it. He fights for those who can't fight for themselves. He fights the powerful in defense of the powerless. He's a humanitarian. He cheers for a guy trying to pass his security guard test. He encourages a young lady to believe in herself and have dreams. He helps a woman keep her business by fighting off bad cops. He walks alone into a gang crib to try to rescue a young blood from going down that road in hopes he might decide he could make something of himself.

is one of the most disappointing aspects of these flicks.

For you, maybe.

Washington is tailor-made for portraying the morally comprised, cultured badass that Robert McCall was in the tv show. Why Fuqua and the gang chose

Fuqua knows how to work with Denzel Washington. And they have portrayed a morally compromised badass together in Training Day. And Washington has portrayed a morally compromised badass in Man on Fire. And just a morally compromised dude in Flight.

to reimagine him as well-manicured Rambo is a mystery

What is a mystery is how you reduce Washington's McCall to a "well-manicured Rambo." In the meantime, Washington's McCall is a Black badass who is noble. In a sea of "one man against all odds" John Wicks and John McClanes, it's refreshing for me to see this Black man of character and integrity kick ass.

You should see Queen Latifah's McCall. She is a well-manicured Black woman of noble character and integrity badass. wink

I know I can always count on @NeoLosman to keep providing new fodder to ensure I won't miss him.

I don't watch trailers because they usually give too much away. I don't read reviews for the same reason.

I'm going to see this movie today and, in reviewing the threads for it, I stumbled upon this.

Yep, I wrote this.

Yep, here we are.

Incredible.
