Discuss The Santa Clause 2

Santa didn't get married by Christmas? I don't think it is really strongly implied.

I know Scott says at the end something along the lines of, "I stop being Santa, the elves lose their jobs and the North Pole disappears and Christmas will be gone", but what exactly does that mean?

Maybe Santa actually has to 'pass the torch', either by dying in some sort of accident or by physically handing over the coat to someone he chose as a replacement. If there's no one to pass the torch to, then maybe everything's void. Scott still wanted to be Santa, so he didn't bother looking for someone to become Santa in his place
