Two wealthy Roman sisters, Marina and Sabrina, the first betrayed wife of a homosexual surgeon, the second left by her multi-horned husband, escape from their respective failures and take a vacation at Circeo, in a splendid villa by the sea. With them there is also Lorena, Marina's masseuse, who has also returned from a sentimental disappointment, and after a few days they are joined by Caterina, the third sister, costume designer for the cinema. She decided each of her in her own way to solve her problems with men, they will end up victims of a seducer and scoundrel writer, but they will always know how to get back on their feet.

Siamo a Roma, nel 2019. Fa caldo e sta per arrivare Ferragosto. Marina, una donna borghese, sposata con un primario di Ortopedia, scopre che suo marito ha una relazione con il suo assistente uomo. Le crolla addosso il mondo. Le sue certezze borghesi vanno in frantumi. Disperata corre a confidarsi con sua sorella Sabrina che ha un negozio di abbigliamento, ma trova in lacrime anche lei. Suo marito, avvocato, ha scoperto che lei lo tradisce e ha deciso di lasciarla. Le due sorelle decidono così di trascorrere le vacanze estive nella villa di Marina a San Felice del Circeo, per trovare un nuovo equilibrio. Insieme a loro parte anche Lorena, la giovane massaggiatrice di Marina, anche lei alle prese con un dramma sentimentale. A loro si aggiungerà poi Caterina, la terza sorella di Marina e Sabrina. A interrompere la serenità di questa vacanza, però, sarà l'arrivo di Antonio, il nuovo vicino di casa che romperà gli equilibri delle tre sorelle…
