I'm a movie buff especially the Hollywood golden era.
Singin' in the Rain is just fabulous. The cast, music, dancing, story line, all so superb. Gene Kelly was the best.

I watched this the other night because I had just watched La La Land and was so disappointed. This is the kind of movie LLL was trying to be. For me it epitomizes the Hollywood musical. It's so funny and touching too.
Apparently Gene Kelly was kind of a jerk to Debbie Reynolds during filming, which is a bit sad.

Like Kelly, like Reynolds. Jean Hagen is hilarious. Several of the numbers are iconic and the script has plenty of wit.
CANNOT STAND Donald O'Connor in this. He makes my skin crawl. That is the key reason why I do not canonise this to the degree that so many do.
