Sarah Connor was OK in my book, Arnold was great, but Kyle Reese and John Connor were not believable at all.
I didn't want them to resemble Michael Biehn and... "that dude we saw in T2 for a few seconds" respectively, but I wanted them to live up to their legacy, and was sorely disappointed on both counts.
As an added "bonus", the T-1000 in this movie was not menacing at all. Robert Patrick also set high standards...

I like Emilia Clarke, but I think she was miscast in this. She is easy on the eyes, but thought she needed a harder edge to her character. I don't like Courtney in this at all, and not a fan of his work overall. I liked Jason Clarke well enough but he wasn't particularly a standout to me.
No matter who they cast in any future incarnation, it will not please everyone.

Clarke as Connor is probably the worst miscast in the history of cinema.

I thought everyone, except for Arnold, was bad. It's like they were too cheap to go through a lengthy auditioning process so they picked the latest and hottest TV actors to fill the rolls. All three of the main supporting cast (Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke) can barely do TV quality acting. They have no business in a theatrical movie.
A side point about the T-1000 terminator. That was such a lame scene overall. He had ample opportunities to kill Kyle, but didn't. The worst has to be when the T-1000 answers Kyle's question about what year it is instead of simply killing him.

Also when the terminator smiled for the police during the police shot. That killed it.

Yep, horribly miscast all around. Arnold was the only reason I even bothered to watch this.

Everybody seemed to be miscast in this movie, ironically even Arnold. A Styrian Oak would not have been as wooden as this ensemble.

Still, better than Salvation cast, even if that film was better.
