Just finished this movie and LOVED it! Besides ED WOOD, i'd consider this one of his absolute BEST! Pee Wee's Big Adventure of course, has a special place cause I seen it so many times when I was a kid. lol

On the whole I would agree. I didnt sympathise with Margaret, didn't like the art and felt the portrayal of Walter may have overly demonised a harmless 'Walter Mitty' type fantacist who was probably instrumental in Margaret being able to make a living out of art...
BUT, the acting was high quality and unlike other films I dont think Burton was interested in shoving matters down out throat or making us take sides. I think he was purely interested in telling an unusual yet simple tale about a dysfunctional marriage that revolved around art and commerce.
Amy Addams continues to impress the more I see of her. It has felt like decades in American cinema since a new leading actress has been consistently picked for top roles due to their ability rather than because they look like a model. Hopefully it is a sign of changed days and we move away from the days of chisled jaws and designer stubble performing opposite t&a, and big eyes!
7/10

I think you may change your opinions on the claims made by this film. It is a long time since I watched it - but when I did it spurred me to investigate it further. I am not sure - it is a long time ago - but I think the guys daughter wrote a book about this situation and this film told a lot of lies about him. It is worth researching.

I haven't watched this film but Ed Wood is hands down, my favorite Burton film.
