She was a pediophile who treated her nephew aweful. Charlie experienced the blackouts because of the guilt he felt in her dying in a car accident in order to get him a birthday present. Why didn't he ever tell anyone? He was angry with her and never opened up until he met the wall flowers.

i guess in these sitations, when the victimisctumim is as young as Charlie was, it's not uncommon for them to stay silent...
