The role went instead to Tim Matheson ( excellent performance by him).Main point is the SNL/ Second City TV players stuck together like glue in film and TV as much as possible. Did these players take an oath to each other? Belushi ended up in Animal House alone of any SNL/ SCTV players. But he was caught trying to get buddy Ackroyd into it. The only time I ever any SNL/SCTV people trying but failing to do this. (Never caught them actually trying just saw the end result!)
