16-year-old Bella and Vipulan are part of a generation convinced its very future is in danger. Between climate change and the 6th mass extinction of wildlife, their world could well be inhabitable 50 years from now. They have sounded the alarm over and over, but nothing has really changed. So they’ve decided to tackle the root of the problem: our relationship with the living world. Over the course of an extraordinary journey, they come to realize just how deeply humans are tied to all other living species. And that by saving them… we’re also saving ourselves. 열여섯 살 벨라와 비풀란은 동물을 사랑하고 기후 위기 활동에 열심인 학생들이다. 제일 큰 걱정은 기후 변화와 생물 다양성 위기로 자신들의 미래가 위협받고 있다는 것! 여섯 번째 대멸종이 시작됐어! 문제의 근원을 알아보기 위해 시릴 디옹 감독과 함께 세계일주에 나선다. 생물 다양성을 위해 활동하는 제인 구달 박사를 비롯해 세계 곳곳의 과학자, 전문가, 활동가들을 만나면서 벨라와 비풀란은 인간이 지구의 모든 생물과 얼마나 긴밀한 관계인지 알게 되고, 생물 다양성을 보존해야 인간의 미래도 보장된다는 것, 그리고 다른 생명과 동물에 대한 사랑의 마음이 우리를 구한다는 것을 깨닫게 된다.

De 16-jarige Bella en Vipulan maken deel uit van een generatie die ervan overtuigd is dat haar toekomst in gevaar is. Tussen de klimaatverandering en de zesde massale uitsterving van wilde dieren zou hun wereld over vijftig jaar wel eens onbewoonbaar kunnen zijn. Ze hebben keer op keer alarm geslagen, maar er is eigenlijk niets veranderd. Daarom hebben ze besloten de wortel van het probleem aan te pakken: onze relatie met de levende wereld.
