She was taken away. Star Trek had an episode dealing with the same plot of them freezing her in ice with other famous celebrities and that is why they disappeared.

It's an interesting thought, but she most likely developed engine problems and crashed. Or veered off course, ran out of fuel and crashed.

Have you seen that unsolved mysteries where she crashes on a Japanese island and they shot her?

Yeah I think I recall seeing that episode. Amelia will be the subject of speculation, perhaps for all time. Sadly, until they find the wreckage of her plane, no one will ever know the truth and forever remain a mystery. In this case, I just invoke Occam's Razor

Not anymore. Researchers found parts of her plane in the ocean and some makeup she liked to wear. They thought a Slaton found on one of the islands was her, but it was a midget man. They are still looking and getting closer to finding out what happened.

I hope they solve the mystery and lay Amelia to rest.
