I just re-watched it and I thought it held up and was better than when I saw it in theaters. Doesn't hold a candle to Heat or Collateral but I found it entertaining...

Haven't seen it though I'm a fan of Michael Mann so I'm sure I'll give it a spin sooner or later. But I already gotta dock it a few points because they didn't get Jan Hammer to do the soundtrack. Seriously, Miami Vice without Jan Hammer is like Flash Gordon without Queen.

I simultaneously found the film boring and could tell that it has lasting value, like the previous poster wrote--but yeah, I can't imagine anything adapted from the show not having the sound of Jan in it... can never fully get that standing-out-like-a-sore-thumb, 80's production-style theme out of my head, ha.
