This is such a mesmerising film. Very little happens for two and a half hours yet it is never dull. A very sad film indeed, and its subject matter is open to interpretation - perhaps about the impossible hardship faced by two people, perhaps about the end of the world. Either way, much of the imagery is impossible to shake - this is top ten of the decade material. 9/10
