I wonder how we can try to get the moderators to unlock the current image so that we can execute the switch to one of the two proposed photos and get Letterboxd to do the same.

The displayed backdrop is determined by user votes; moderators cannot set a primary backdrop. You all can upvote your preferred image. As for Letterboxd, someone needs to ask the Letterboxd staff to do it — they have to import it to the site manually.
