Discuss The Big Scare

Item: La Grande Frousse

Language: fr-FR

Type of Problem: Incorrect_content

Extra Details: The film was released en 1967 under the title "The Big Scare", a title chosen by the studios against the director's wishes. It was re-released in 1972 under its real title: "La cité de l'indicible peur" (City of unspeakable fear) and has always been presented under this title (DVD, TV broadcasts, etc.), so that the old title no longer exists. The main and alternative titles should therefore be reversed. I wanted to do it, but the original title area is locked. If you unlock it, I can make the change.

Hi. It is true what you say and I agree, but, regarding the titles, the rule, certainly a strict one, is that the main title must be the one with which the film was released for the first time, regardless of the decisions that have been taken afterwards, by the director, as in this case, by the production company, by the distribution companies, etc.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. The rule is not strict, it's psycho-rigid. You'd rather keep the title of a film that no longer exists, and therefore have an error in your database in order to respect a rule. It doesn't make sense.
