... because apparently Snyder thinks we're all still using them.
The guy is supposedly a genius filmmaker. But he hasn't figured out that people that have 16x9 tv sets. #Releasethe16x9cut
Well, I'm not going to comment on whether or not I think the guy is a genius because TBH I wouldn't really know but as the old saying goes "I know what I like" and I like his version of Justice League more than Whedon's. I heard it has something to do with it being filmed for IMAX (which apparently is in 4:3) but a lot of movies have been filmed for IMAX and have made the transition to 16:9 for the home theatre market. Whatever, no biggie, I just thought it was an odd choice.

You know when they transition IMAX films to home theater they do so by cropping out the tops and bottoms. It's a practice that sometimes really pisses off a film buff friend of mine, as he notices little details that he had lot of appreciation for in the theatrical release completely missing in home theater releases as they were cropped out.

He actually filmed it to fill IMAX screens. He decided to not crop it for TV lest we lose things that were filmed on the top and bottom.
