Some people said that these were ghosts, other said that these were zombies in some places.
Now I've been thinking, and it's fine to disagree with me about this, but shouldn't the Pirates be revenants by chance technically speaking?
Revenants accordingly are visable ghosts or reanimated corpses that have came back from the dead to terrorize the living. If I'm correct, weren't the Pirates terrorizing the town of Antonio Bay throughout the film, or at least during the latter?
What are your thoughts about this? I would say these are Revenants, but I'm curious as to what are your thoughts about it?

I guess I always assumed they were ghosts, but I can see how some might think they're zombies. This movie does give off a bit of a Night Of The Living Dead vibe, especially toward the end when the group is trapped in the church and Stevie's trapped in the lighthouse.
