Wonka girdisini tartış

It's mostly childish and very flat movie, devoid of all the charm and magic that defined the previous versions of the character.

First, the story is just not interesting at all. Basically it's about a poor working class Wonka that has to struggle against upper class of capitalists that hold all means of production and distribution. Why does politics need to be a part of such movie? I would much better prefer to see a movie about Wonka's travel over the world and how he discovers all the tastes and how he combines all of his discoveries into the chocolate, how he is developing into the chocolate maker we know today. Instead the movie shows him as already established chocolate maker that don't need to struggle to find his path in the tastes and experience discoveries. His only struggles are against the ruling elite. That's just dumb. If I watch a movie about young Wonka I want to see how he became such a chocolate maker, his way to discover his unique style, not how "The Man" was trying to prevent him from selling his product. That's a big problem with the story.

Second, the songs are unremarkable and forgettable, there is nothing iconic and memorable about any of them. They have no integral place in the plot, the songs here are just expression of emotion in that particular moment and not a plot device that leads the story and advances it. That's another big difference from Burton's version, in which songs were part of the plot and helped to progress it.

And third, Chalamet is an ok actor. I still didn't see anything with him in which he shows any above average acting. To compare, DiCaprio at the same age already did Gangs of New York and was filming The Aviator, in both of which he was already in his top form and showing fantastic acting skills. Chalamet is not bad, he is just not very good either. And specifically he is not suitable for the role at all, it is visible through the entire movie that he is mostly bored from playing that role. I don't think he was able to catch and represent any true spirit of the character, nor to hint about the future development into what we saw with Wonkas that were played by Wilder and Depp. Just wrong decision based on irrelevant data only because he is a popular actor at this time and the movie needed a big name to draw younger audience. It didn't help either that all supportive actors were much better than him in their roles. I mean, to bring such a fantastic team of actors into the movie is amazing job done by the casting director, but they all are so good that they steal every scene and Chalamet looks completely pale and amateur compared to them. They have better presence, better comedic timing, better characters and better acting skills. No wonder that Wonka felt so flat as a character.

In any case, Wonka is not a proper prequel and feels like unnecessary addition. It feels more like an attempt of the very same upper class of capitalists to maximize the brand and the status of the actor to earn money without actually investing into a good story. I guess there are no mirrors where they live, nor self awareness.

Hollywood considers Timothée Chalamet, known from the "Dune" movies, as a rising star on the A-list. Of course, fans are more interested in his relationship with Kylie than in his acting. They will watch any movie with him in it.

He was known BEFORE his relationship with that woman. He's been around since 2008 but I think his breakout role in 'Call Me by Your Name' & then in 'Ladybird', which was released in the same year (2017). Then 'Little Women' in 2019 pretty much cemented him as a 'heartthrob' for tweens & teenage girls. I'm personally not a big fan, especially his role as Paul Atreides, he's too delicate-looking. Here's hoping he bulked up a bit for part 2 (although they were supposedly filmed at the same time).

Indeed, he was not "A Complete Unknown" before "Dune", he was 'un choix préféré' of the film connoisseur and his fans, and after "Dune" everyone embraced him. If he dares to disregard the advice of the wise and becomes a superhero, he will soar higher than ever. And when there is no red carpet, his love life - from Madonna's daughter to Depp's daughter to the Kardashians - will keep him in the limelight.

Watch out for "Wonka 2".

Have never been a fan of Timothee Chalamet but to say his fans are more interested in his relationship with Kylie than his acting is hilarious.

Firstly, I agree that the political approach to the story may have taken away some of the magic we all love about Wonka. A narrative more focused on young Wonka's incredible flavor discoveries and unique journey would have been a more enchanting choice. The true essence of the character lies in his passion for creating delicious delicacies, not in political struggles and capitalism.

As for the songs, it's a shame they didn't stand out like in previous versions. Songs should be more than mere momentary expressions, but rather an integral part of the plot, guiding it in a memorable way. Burton really knew how to incorporate music into the narrative.

Regarding Timothée Chalamet, I understand the perspective that perhaps he was not the ideal choice to portray Wonka's journey. A more engaging performance capable of capturing the true essence of the character would have made all the difference. I agree that the search for a popular name should not compromise delivering the true spirit of Wonka.

In short, it would be wonderful to see cinema investing in a more authentic and enchanting approach to William Wonka's story, exploring his origins and his incredible journey to become the master chocolatier we all admire. The public deserves a narrative that celebrates the magic of imagination and the passion for creating delicious sweets!
