It looked like it was going to be a dollar coaster ride for part 4 being set in a post apocolyptic world.
I think the Mart ending was used to connect with the audience and keep it as an action horror film.
But I still ponder on what could've been a great film and where that ending wouldve taken it.

I was always a bit curious too as to where that unused ending would've taken it, but I prefer the ending in the S-Mart.

I would love to see what they do. It would be amazing if that future was shown with deadites running around and causing mayhem. Ash would have a field day.

Nah. It was a neat idea, but the execution was lacking. Plus, the S-Mart ending is better.

No. I too prefer the S-Mart ending. The alternate was certainly bleak, but I prefer how they went out with a little humor.
Also, the apocalyptic ending wouldn't have led to the awesome series that succeeded the films.
