Does anyone know what the top handle in the gearing up scene was supposed to be? It looked like the tool used to smooth out concrete or something that was hinged on there. But then after that scene the metal base disappears and it's just the handle that remains.

It doesn't look like a trowel handle though (concrete smoothing).
