"송해 1927"은 우리에게 보여진 적 없는 그의 무대 뒤 얼굴에 가까이 다가간다. 그는 자주 눈을 감고 있고, 진중한 표정은 슬픔과 고통을 숨기기 좋은 은닉처처럼 보인다. 게다가 그는 과묵하다. “갈 때도 의논이 좀 됐으면 했지”라는 말로 축약된 아들의 사고사. 윤재호의 영화도 그 톤을 닮아 한 생에 담긴 온갖 신산을 차분히 모아 담는다.
