I've seen several films released in 2021 with a lot of gun violence: Nobody, Wrath of Man, and Protege. Copshop shares that, and like the others, has a decent story with a number of plot twists.
Nearly every online critic's review I've read SPOILS the film, by giving away the plot twists. They basically just tell you nearly the entire story. DON'T READ THEM. Some have said that the story and direction reminds them of Q. Tarantino. Maybe a little.
Copshop has a small distributor with almost no marketing, but they made it to 3,005 US theaters. Gerard Butler has a producer credit as well as a top acting role. Someone else steals the show. I'm not looking for violence, but this story's unexpected twists and unpredictable turns makes it worth seeing.

I somehow managed to miss all plot details about this film but saw it mentioned on a Jeremy Jahns video and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did, it was pretty good. Loved the Anthony Lamb character, that actor nearly stole the whole movie.

Yeah his character was really fun, although the could the police be anymore inept?? Also enjoyed the flip between Butler and Grillo's characters, even if it was somewhat expected.

It was ok. Like most of Carnahan's films since Narc, just ok.
