Discuss Shark Season

Terrible acting, Terrible script, Terrible production, unbelievable "model"

SPOILERS: Photographer, makeup artist, and 'model' kayak across the ocean for HOURS for a photoshoot. They aren't even using ocean kayaks. They aren't even using real kayaks, they have sit-on-top kayaks. Model just kayaked for hours. Why would you want the model to be dirty, sweaty, and exhausted right before a photoshoot. The makeup artist doesn't do anything but flick the model's hair around for 3 seconds. "let's go for the natural look". She brought a tiny bag of makeup but used none of it to prepare the model for the fake photoshoot. Camera is a consumer grade camera. Model wears a wrap that looks like the rug outside the backdoor of your grandma's house. She doesn't even model showing her bikini.
Whenever they show an aerial view of the three kayaks, half of the time, they are all in different directions or pointing to each other. When they show close ups of the two girls "paddling" their kayaks, they act like they are trying to paddle through freshly poured thick concrete. The conversations are not realistic at all. No one talks to someone else about the other person's relationships like these people do. "Hollywood" is so far out of touch with reality. The model is Sarah and her Dad keeps calling her, leaving ungodly long stupid voicemails even though he knows her battery is low and she is having trouble getting a signal. What a jerk. I've been trying to suffer through this thing for three days; I am committed to complete it... I'm 50 minutes in with about 30 to go. It is the most painful movie I've sat through in a long time... back to work. :)

I'd never heard of it. Looked at the cast list after you posted this and the first name is Michael Madsen. That's an immediate spinning red light and a loud siren. He doesn't even make the Z-list of actors these days.

Not sure what you were expecting, but this is the kind of movie you'd find on a dusty back shelf of the video store in the 80's.

It is also known as 'Deep Blue Nightmare'.
