No, i don't think so...because I don't think Bill would have said anything, because he knocked Eve back quick smart. The only other person that knew was Addison, and he quickly knocked it on the head when he confronted Eve with it.
Well, I wasn't sure but, as silly as it sounds, I've always been protective of Bill and Margo (they're my favorite characters in the movie).
But I have another question for you. Do you think that Lloyd and Eve slept together? I've always thought so. My two reasons for my opinion is 1. The way he rushed over to Eve's boarding house when that lady who called for Eve said that Eve was crying so much, and that guilty look he had on his face during the award scenes.
I actually don't think he did. He loved his wife too much. He probably felt guilty because Karen didn't know the real story of how Eve made up the reason for LLoyd going over there. I think LLoyd looked more embarrassed than guilty.
Remember in Eve's appartment, she was telling Addison that Lloyd asked her to marry him. That was a lie and Addison knew it.
Okay, but if the Lloyd asking her to marry her was wrong, I'm just wondering why she had so much booze in the apartment. When Addison asked her why, she said that they (meaning her and Lloyd) were having the cast up there for drinks after the performance. Why would she say that? Of course we know that Eve would do anything, including making it seem like an innocent cocktail party sound like the type of thing "a couple" would do.
I watched it again a couple of days ago, and I always enjoy seeing Eve try to seduce Bill. Anne Baxter is a great actress, and even though she's the villian, I always feel a little sorry for Eve when Bill shuts her down.
@ausfem : You know what really bugs me about that scene with Bill and Eve was when Eve told him that Bill said the first night they met that he told her she'd only be famous with him (not!) The really funny part is every time I watch the movie I keep yelling at the TV, "No, he never said that! I've seen this movie at least 30 times and never heard Bill say that!"). It's too bad I hate this film so much, isn't it? :-)

@ausfem : Maybe that's why I hated it so much that it is my favorite film of all time.
BTW, didn't Gary Merrill and Bette Davis have chemistry?

@ausfem : Yeah. That was so cool! Also, Gary Merrill adopted Bette's daughter from a previous marriage and they adopted two more children.

Unfortunately it didn't last. I guess it would be hard not to fall in love with handsome leading men![relaxed](/assets/emojis/v8/263a.svg)

I've always thought that Gary Merrill was pretty hot.
