Not to be considered canon. I would say it's a cash grab, but it's not, it's an overt zeitgeist molestation.
The original trilogy was an homage to Battle Royale, and poignant social commentary. This is some self-unaware leech on that trilogy. Missed opportunity.

I agree. What bothered me most was that the whole arena was basically just the one dome-shaped room. The terrible action scenes didnt show a single drop of blood, maybe to keep the rating PG.

Totally agree, bottom drawer. The plot is subterranean. I wonder why the 100 million was needed; 10% percent of that would have been enough to produce this junk.
