It's a "fill in the blanks" thing, but I wonder what the priest had to say to the Stationmaster when he mentioned hosting his "grand daughter" at the train station? Then there's that "Twilight Zone" touch with the Hotpot on the gas stove and the setting for two on the dining table.

As I recall from IMDb policy, one has to avoid "spoilers" when discussing a movie. Do a Google! search for the movie; there is a streaming site with commercial-tv-level ads that makes this movie a bit less appealing. Still, it was a candidate for Japan's foreign film entry in 2000. If you've seen it, put up your best guess at what the priest told Otomatsu Sato, if not, take a trip to Hokkaido "on the train.";)
