Discuss Pacific Rim

For any of you who have already seen Pacific Rim, is it childish(For Example I consider Avengers a very childish film, which was one of my major issues with the film) Basically is their any of stupid humor in Pacific Rim, like their is in Avengers?

By your definition it would be childish. By my own observation of the film it was fun, engaging, risqué in paying homage to a form of manga/anime/mecha/kaiju for a specific market.

Pacific Rim is one of my favorite top ten films of all time! I love everything about it! I heard there was a sequel coming out next year, but without Idris Elba in it, I just don't think it would be the same.

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

I also would have liked to have had Idris with a larger role but I would have preferred if the movie had really given more time to all of the other mechs and less time on Charlie Day's character.

You make a good point. The Jaegers were awesome. My favorite one was Crimson Typhoon with those three arms.

Fasten you're seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

hand_splayed_tone1 Exactly!!! Even the pilots were interesting and deserved more screen time than Charlie Day!

Yes they were. For some reason Guillermo Del Toro thought he needed some comic relief.

as childish as all other comic-book, superhero and toy movies...

Well, I STILL like it.

I don't know about childish. I don't find anime childish.

PacRim plays just like an anime movie. It has silly, cheesy elements. But there's a difference between cheese and childishness, IMO. It's not a jokefest like the MCU films.

I think Pacific Rim had a lot better fights than MCU films (with the exception of Doctor Strange, which I have to defend because I'm a Cumberbabe ). I love those Kaiju/Jaegar fights!

@Renovatio wink Well, I'm glad we got that straightened out.
