I think this may have been my first movie seen at a outdoor drive-in. Here to talk about drive-ins more than the movie The Ten Commandments.
Sure brings brings back great memories thinking about going to the drive-ins. First my parents taking us and some friends. Then when I got my drivers license taking my girlfriend. Getting a Designated driver and the rest of us drinking beer at the drive-in. Sometimes we would take blankets and/or lawn chairs and sit under the stars watching the movies. Great fun! Any of you have any good memories of going to drive-ins? I have a neat web site about drive-ins and it lists every drive-in still open in every state. If I can find it I will post the link here.

I believe I first saw this movie at the drive-in too --- probably with my parents. Oh yes, I have fond memories of the drive-in. In West Texas they were open year round. There was even a playground for kids. No one worried about letting your kids leave the car! Mom would usually make a big bowl of popcorn and we kids would already be in our pajamas! There would be a double feature -- something for the kids and then the adult movie after that. Later when I was a teenager the drive-in was popular for dates or with a crowd of kids. I remember some kids would get in the trunk of a car to avoid paying for a ticket! It was such fun. By the time I had kids the outdoor movie theater was a thing of the past.

We also got in the trunk to save money. Surprised we never got caught.

Don't know how old your kids are or if you have grand-kids but you may still be able to show them how fun it can be. Check out this web site. Just click on your state. You may be surprised how close one is to you.

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately there is not one in reasonable distance from me! Seems like it would a great thing to bring back. I remember how high tech it was when you didn't need the speakers anymore and you could tune into the movie sound with your car radio! This was in the late 70's --- at the end of the era it seems! I really would like to take my grandkids to the drive-in sometime! I guess they are no longer profitable -- take up too much space maybe?

I'm about 20 miles from the Georgetown Indiana one. It is packed every weekend in the summer. They have to turn people away& you have to get there by 6:30 at the latest! They have the best drive in good & always show the old cartoon about concession stand 😁
