محادثة Pulp Fiction

Does anyone know if these two very acclaimed filmmakers are still at odds? For those who aren't "hip" to the history, Spike gave Tarantino a cameo in his feature film Girl 6 in 1996, and the two feuded for years afterwards. I don't even remember the cause, but I believe it was partly because of QT's use of the N-word in Pulp Fiction - I also recall that Denzel confronted Tarantino about using the word in his film. Tarantino and Lee are two of my favorite working male directors, both responsible for very rocking films.

If you ask me, one of the worst things is to have hard feelings, although I do grasp the concept of irreconcilable differences.

Thanks for posting that, brat, I'd forgotten about Mr. Lee's comment to The Daily Variety.

Lee is the sort of guy who sued a TV network over calling itself "Spike", out of the belief that folks would have associated with him, and Tarantino is a pasty white suburbanite who still thinks it hip for him to walk around speaking as if he was a character in a Blaxploitation flick. It's tough to imagine these two not ever clashing, much less reconciling afterwards

If I recall correctly, Spike flew off the handle a little, but basically was concerned that the network was sneakily encroaching upon his moniker - which very well may be true. As for Tarantino being "pasty white" as you put it, I really don't see his color having a ton to do with who he is as a person.

The point was he's white and so doesn't have alibi for saying "nigger". That's the convention, so if you break it you're bound to upset others.

I really don't know these two personally but Pulp Fiction and Do The Right Thing are two of the best films ever made. Quentin does seem like a major asshole though, judging by interviews and other confrontations with people. He gets aggressive easily and for little reason.

I know the deal. You may care about this info or then again, you may dismiss it, but Tarantino once said that if you tell him he can't use the N-word in his films, you're the racist.
