Doesn't the movie use the same tried boxing film formula that the Rocky franchise used,
I haven't seen ANY of the Creed movies, nor in fact any Rocky movie since Rocky IV, so I wouldn't know directly.
are you tired of that?
Me, personally, I fell out of love with the Rocky franchise as a teenager back in the 80s. So, yeah, I am.
HOWEVER, two things:
1) Whoever the audience is for this movie, that CinemaScore indicates either that A) if it is the same, they are apparently not yet tired of it; or B) this movie did something different and they also enjoyed it. Either way, its audience enjoyed it.
2) My comment wasn't so much about the movie but about showing some love to MBJ for his acting and directing a movie that the fanbase apparently appreciates.
Michael B. Jordan directs, and Creed III hits a sparkling A- on CinemaScore - respect!
Maker Of Life willing, he'll now also get to direct that Superman flick he's rumored to be starring in
I don't see anything that looks like a Superman movie in his upcoming credits...but, he does have several quite interesting projects coming down the pike.

Michael is also another kid that spent his younger years on a soap. After his appearance on The Wire (Wallace) in 2002, he spent almost three years on All My Children.

I saw that, but didn't think "Superman." But, hey, might be close enough.

No. Mus and I discussed MBJ starring as the lead in the next Superman flick now that Henry Cavill has been axed in a different thread
Yes, I vaguely remember that discussion...I was just saying I don't see an official entry on his page that that project is happening yet.
1) It wasn't so much about him portraying a Black Clark Kent, but playing a Black Kryptonian who would, by virtue of being a Kryptonian, have similar powers as Superman.
2) As for playing "Black Superman", MBJ says he's not even aware of any rumors of such. Speculate from this however one may be inclined.

As a refresh, this recent article called Michael B. Jordan Shares Blunt Response to Black Superman Rumors mentions a few things:
1) It wasn't so much about him portraying a Black Clark Kent, but playing a Black Kryptonian who would, by virtue of being a Kryptonian, have similar powers as Superman.
2) As for playing "Black Superman", MBJ says he's not even aware of any rumors of such. Speculate from this however one may be inclined.
