"It must die, so we can live."
"Adapted from the novel 'Dark Harvest (2006)' by Norman Partridge, the movie is set in 1963 in a small Midwestern town, where there is an annual event on Halloween, called 'The Run'. Teenage boys - no girls allowed - participate in this competition where they have to stop and kill a scarecrow with a pumpkin head - Sawtooth Jack - before it reaches the town church and the bell rings at midnight. The prize is a new house for their parents, a check for $25,000 and a flashy car with which the winner can then leave the town. Jim won last year, and now his younger brother Richie wants to do the same. However, there is a dark secret behind all this and if he succeeds, a terrifying fate awaits him..."
