Since the original title of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is already English, shouldn't the "Translated Title (English)" also be "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", and "Sorcerer's Stone" should be an alternative title? From looking at the Wikipedia article, it appears that it is only called "Sorcerer's Stone" in a few countries. What are everyone else's thoughts?

Hi Philosopher's
On the English page the English translation should be empty or the same like the original title, otherwise you would overwrite the original title in the overview. You can add additional English titles under the field "alternative titles", so if you going to search for them you are going to find your movie under the original title as well as under the alternative titles.

I just meant, which one should we have as the main English title? Philosopher's or Sorcerer's? Should we have Sorcerer's as an alternative title instead, and have the "Translated Title" field blank?

The Original Tile will be "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and the english title should be blank or the same like the original tile. As it is mentioned on imdb. The Philosopher's should be an alternative title, because there is in tmdb no difference between british or us english.

Hi, I'm sorry to reopen this again, but shouldn't the original title be "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" as it was released several months earlier in the UK, and that is where the film and book originate? And then "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" should be an alternative title?
Edit: Also, I see that IMDB says that Sorcerer's Stone is the original title for the USA. But wouldn't Philosopher's be original for worldwide release?
Thanks, Jack :)

Hmmm? That is a excellent question, precisely because it is an British movie. I didn't notice that the displayed title is just the USA one.
EDIT
Yeah how it is in the tmdb database is it right then.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is the original title and Sorcerer's Stone is alternative
I've changed the english title
