Discuss Spider-Man: No Way Home

Of all the villains who appeared in Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spiderman films, five appeared in this film - the number of times Dr. Strange's spell was ruined.

Why weren't Venom/Topher Grace, New Goblin/James Franco, Green Goblin/Dane DeHaan, and Rhino/Paul Giamatti among the five chosen villains? Did the filmmakers choose five of the villains randomly, or were there particular reasons? For instance: the actors didn't like the script, scheduling conflicts, etc.

To clarify: I am not asking why didn't all the villains from the previous Spiderman films appear in this film. My question is about the specific villains who were chosen by the filmmakers to be pulled to Tom Holland/Spiderman's world, in compliance with the number of times the spell was interrupted.

All the villains resurrected were the main villains emphasis on main. Having multiple Goblins in one movie hovering around and chuckling would confuse the audience and take the sting out of Willem Dafoe's performance.

James Franco is on Hollywood's naughty step at the moment and was never gonna appear.

Rhino was a joke, no one wanted him back.

Too many Venoms spoil the Brock.

Did anyone really want to see Topher Grace, Dane DeHaan, and Paul Geiamatti's Rhino?

The actor from the two Venom movies (Tom Hardy, not Topher Grace) made a cameo appearance in the closing credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The audience cheered.

Did the mid credits scene imply that Tom Hardy's Venom won't be appearing again in this universe's Spider-man?

Regarding the choice of villains...i really thought they were creating the Sinister Six, maybe bringing back the Vulture from the first Tom Holland Spider-man to lead them or something. Just a minor disappointment to an otherwise hugely entertaining film :)

Technically there were 6 of them, just one decided to get drunk for a week instead of travelling to New York.
