Discuss Interview with the Vampire

Why couldn't they hide under the dresses? The woman's was big enough. With Claudia's dress they should have had enough for both to curl up under. I know this doesn't change anything but is still sad to see them die. Prolly one of the only times I cringe.

wow I also used to ask this a lot when I watched it before, I hated to see them die. And if I remember it correctly the 'mother' just recently became a vampire.

Yep she was just turned. I figured the dresses would have been big enough, still inhale this part as its so sad.

Seeing as they have to sleep in literal coffins (rather than just idk somewhere in the shade) I imagine that a dress wouldn't do much good with regard to sun protection!

Great point about coffins. I always thought it was kinda weird in a lot of other vampire flicks where they can just sorta draw the shades or duck under an overhang and they're safe 😒 But I guess if we go back to some of the earliest traditional vampire stories, they often use heavy stone coffins in underground mausoleums. I'd like to think sunlight to a vampire is like literal radiation to a human, don't try it without a lead suit.
