Discussão Trainspotting

I watched Trainspotting again last night, almost 20 years after the first (and only) time I saw it. It surprised me that, besides the fashion and the incredibly fake baby on the ceiling, it didn't feel outdated.

Warning: I'm a layman when it comes to movie techniques but I think it's the cinematography(?) more than anything that made the movie a feast to watch for me. I loved the camera angles and the framing of the images. I really enjoyed myself last night.

GREAT movie! I love Danny Boyle's work. BTW, how many films has he made with someone in them crawling or swimming around in shit?

Yes, the cinematography definitely caught my attention, as well as everything else haha. The cast is great. The soundtrack is awesome (gets me nostalgic for Lou Reed). And a lot of the direction is amazing. I had never seen an approach to overdosing quite the way Boyle captured it (referring to the scene when the Mother Superior drags Renton to the cab). I even love the accents, though I have to admit to putting on the subtitles for the whole movie. Does that make me a fucking tosser? Eh, who knows.

Definitely one of my favorite movies ever.

I havn't seen all of his work, so I don't have a clue...

The baby crawling on top of the ceiling over top of his bed was one of the most creepy things I've ever seen!

The baby in the cot was what I'd remembered most all those years ago. It's so sad that this does happen in real life. It was still a disturbing scene to watch again.

I watched the movie with subtitles too. I don't think we're the only ones.

I was asking rhetorically. I know that both Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire have their protagonists either crawling or swimming in shit in them. I think that's a funny commonality.

And it also turns it's head around right on cue at the TURN, TURN, TURN part of the BIRD'S song that's playing during this scene.
