Discuss Unhinged

Not that it really matters, but I do wonder whether Russell Crowe got fat because he thought it would make his role more authentic or simply because that boy likes to eat!

As far as the movie goes....well...seems like they've done this movie and plot at least a couple of times already. I'm halfway through and it doesn't really offer anything new or innovative and it's quite mediocre and watching the rest is really not something I'm looking forward to. It's also one of those movies those movies where the actions of the characters make very little sense to service a poor script.

That Nicolas Cage movie, that I believe you are referring to, is vastly underrated in my opinion. While no masterpiece I do believe it's probably Cage's best work in the last decade or perhaps in all of the 21st century so far.

It's a TV movie, and definitely not up to par with the best of TV movies. I can't imagine the filmmakers ever recouping their budget.

FWIW, I thought it was a fat suit. Not sure why it would matter all that much to the script, except they wouldn't want him all fit and likeable, but I think he would have been just as scary either way. Strange choice, unless it was for "range."
