The first movie is still in my top 10 favorites and I have close to no interest in this. Sequels made 20 years after the first/last one are never good. I love Keanu and Moss but they are too goddamn old to return to this franchise. The entire trailer is just references to the first movie.
And worst of all, we all know it's going to be woke. If I sense a film is woke I avoid it until I have confirmation from people I trust it's not woke.

Because I like movies about stories and characters. Woke films/TV don't care about telling a good story with good characters, they only care about delivering a social/political message. I don't enjoy being preached to, it's not fun or entertaining to watch.
I've been approached more than a few times on the street by people who will start talking to me and come off as friendly, and then they will slip me a pamphlet with their religious beliefs on it. That's what Hollywood films have become. They look like movies but really they're just a vehicle to spread their social/political beliefs.
So no, I'm done. I'm fine with the Wachowskis transitioning, but they have tried to retcon The Matrix as a transition story and distance themselves from the message that actually resonated with people (reject the mainstream narrative, take the red pill, wake up and fight the system). I'm expecting Lana to go full-hog on the transition allegory, which is fine, it's her property, but that's not what made the first one so good. I fully predict this will be The Force Awakens where it's just a redo of the first movie but with some form of gendered empowerment angle. And that's fine, they can do that if they want, but I'm not spending my money on it.

I don't have anything against the gay community either (they change the letters all the time, I can't be bothered to keep up) and I'm black so I of course like seeing people who look like me in media, the problem is the non-whites/gays/women characters are almost always written terribly. Their entire personality is wrapped up in their skin color, sexuality, or gender. It would be like if there were Mormons in every other movie or show and their only purpose was to mention how they are a proud Mormon, how great it is to be a Mormon, and how if you don't want to be a Mormon you're a nazi. I have nothing against Mormons or any other group but I don't want religious propaganda of any type shoved in my face when I'm trying to enjoy a story.
There's a really good movie called Tangerine that's about two trans women in LA and it's a funny movie, the fact the leads are trans women serves the plot of the movie and is why many of the situations and plot threads are funny and entertaining. It's never "hey you straight guys, you should want to sleep with us or you're a bigot" it's just "this is a day in the wacky life of these trans women" and it's a good movie. But that was 2015 right before I started to notice wokeness around the time of Ghostbusters 2016 .
I stand by my principles. If studios want to make this stuff they can, I'm just not buying or watching it no matter how much Rotten Tomatoes, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok or whatever tells me how good it is or I'm a bad person for not eating the poop they want to serve me.

Yes, that's called bad/lazy writing. It's like a Buzzfeed article come to life.
And those are exactly the kind of women I hear complaining that they can't find a man to marry them lol

I read the leaks, its just a rehash of the original basically. But hey we should be happy they arent making the blue hair girl (Bugs) into the new 'One.' But I do wonder what SJW shit they will throw in there.
