It hasn't even been filmed yet, So why are you assuming that it will be crap? Although I prefer Snipes as Blade, this one might be good?

Obviously the screenplay is crap, that's like standard in Marvel now. And I don't like that actor, every movie I've seen with him he is not acting very good. Highly overrated. MCU is already a huge mess, with gods and other realms and monsters and magic and whatnot. Now they add also vampires, and how can you add vampires without werewolves. It's getting more and more ridiculous.

Werewolves appeared in the MCU Phase Four movie "Werewolf by Night (2022)". The plot of the new "Blade (2024)" movie (Phase Five) is not known yet. Possibly there could be a link with the werewolves.

Really? It's not as easy as one might think it is..

I probably couldn't write a screenplay for many movies, for sure. But after seeing recent Marvel movies and especially last Ant-man, I am positive 100% I can write a better screenplay, because that was a complete sh!t.

Chances are, if you could, you would. Why wouldn't you? Write a script, shop it around, get it picked up, make some money, meet producers and directors and actors, be on the set, the premiere, the after-party...that'd all be cool!

I often enjoy cooking at home over going out to eat. It sucks to pay a lot of money and not enjoy a meal. But my being able to get a steak or a rack of lamb perfect every now and again is nothing compared to all that goes into actually being a chef.

It's like some kid playing basketball at the local schoolyard or gym thinking he is better than some average NBA player; if he really was, he'd also be in the NBA, because why be good enough to get paid a million bucks and not go ahead and get paid? They're not in the NBA because they don't have the right combination of skills and commitment to get to the NBA, it's just that simple. If you could make a million bucks doing something you're good at and enjoy, well, why wouldn't you?

Back to script-writing, there's an episode of Seinfeld in which Kramer says he wants to build "levels" in his apartment. Jerry bets him it won't happen. A few scenes later, Kramer says he's not doing the levels anymore because "he doesn't want to." Jerry attempts to claim his win, Kramer says "the bet's off, I'm not doing it." Jerry goes "that's the bet. It's not a question of if it could be done; anything could be done; it's about if it is done."

That said, hey, of course we can criticize movies and those who make them. You don't have to be a chef to say you didn't enjoy the meal. Just don't give in to the temptation to say you could do better because, if you could, you probably would. Why wouldn't you?

Yes he was good.

I'd say it was the defining role for the character myself... from the original film.

I keep hearing / reading that the actual chances of selling a screenplay in the industry are less than 2%, roughly.

There is still no definitive script. Four writers - Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Beau DeMayo, Michael Starrbury and Nic Pizzolatto - have worked on it since 2021, and the last one, Pizzolatto, could not finish it due to the writer's strike.

Are you for real? Why don't I write the screenplay? That's a stupid question to ask, sorry. That's something that a little child that has no life experience would ask. I don't write the script because it is not my job, I have a different job and other things that needs to be done. Are you willing to pay me for writing the script? What would I even do with such script? How many thousands of people write fan fiction, send it to studios and being ignored? And I am sure that at least half of these fan fiction scripts are really good.

That industry like any other industry is mostly closed, you need to do a full path with entry level jobs to advance in it, and it takes years. Even Tarantino had to do entry level writing and experience rejections before getting a breakthrough after working for few years. And he was living in LA. It's not that simple.

In other words, no, you can't.

Based on the previous works of the main writers the movie will be about black person experience, racism and all sort of racial grievances. Pretty sure that Black Panther is the model for that movie and was pitched this way - it's like Black Panther, only with vampires. Makes no sense, but studios love to hear stuff like that.

As a HUGE fan of the original, saw it in cinemas when I was 16, this is exciting and also devastating at the same time. Blade was amazing, Wesley was amazing, the story/ending was a little cliche but great for a 16 year old kid. I just really hope they dont throw any race or political shit into it. No one cared that Blade was black or that Frost was white. No one cared that Dr. Karen was in a formal relationship with a white Dr. It was just bad vampires out to fuck high ranking vampires while also enslaving the human race cause they were tired of living in the shadows. But new Marvel is pretty bad, as the box office is showing. They need to get back to what made them special all those years ago.
